Ryan Braun, OF, Milwaukee Brewers

FanDuel Price: $3,900

We're doubling down on Ryan Braun! Maybe that's why he's making that scowl.

But really, this isn't just about Braun, but about the Milwaukee Brewers as a whole today.

Do you know who had the best road ERA among starters in the league last year? No, it wasn't Clayton Kershaw, Max Scherzer or Noah Syndergaard.

It was Tyler Chatwood, with a 1.69 ERA. I bet you didn't see that coming. That was a far cry from his ugly 6.12 home ERA in Colorado.

Obviously, he's not this good on the road, and home/road splits generally need to be taken with a grain of salt outside of specific situations like pitching in Coors. But in his career, on the road he has a 3.25 ERA and .308 wOBA against. Chatwood isn't as bad a pitcher as you might think.

Which brings us back to Braun. Last year, he hit the ball on the ground 57.1% of the time against righties. Chatwood is right-handed, induced ground balls to righties 59% of the time and had an elite 57.2% rate against all batters. As stated yesterday, a ground-ball hitter versus a ground-ball pitcher will naturally lead to a ton of ground balls. It's unlikely Braun goes yard again, and Chatwood's high grounder rate reduces the upside of all the Brewers bats.

Despite the Brewers having an implied team total above four runs, there are better matchups to target.
