Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Pitching is absolutely loaded tonight. In addition to having several elite options such as Corey Kluber, Justin Verlander, Noah Syndergaard, and Danny Duffy, there are also several cheaper options -- Jason Hammel, Kenta Maeda, and Blake Snell -- in good matchups. Don't expect Ervin Santana to be overly popular among all of the viable pitching options.

Why You Should Use Him:

Santana has his ERA down to 3.62 on the year after nine straight starts with 3 or less runs allowed. He has a 2.05 ERA and 0.95 WHIP over that stretch, and he's averaging a 35.8 FanDuel points per game in that span.

Santana will look to carry his recent success into tonight's matchup against the Atlanta Braves. On the year, Atlanta ranks dead last against righties in wRC+, ISO, slugging percentage, and hard-hit rate. In their last meeting, Santana threw a complete game and allowed just two runs.

One downside of facing Atlanta is limited strikeout upside, as they have just the 24th-highest strikeout rate against righties. We're not targeting Santana for huge strikeout totals, though. We're looking for a high floor with his ability to pitch deep into games, and there is good chance of picking up a win. He's a viable play in any format tonight if you're comfortable fading the more expensive options.
