4 Under-the-Radar FanDuel MLB Plays for 8/16/16
Third base is loaded tonight, which should keep Kyle Seager underowned. Who else will fly under the radar?

Braden Shipley, P, Arizona Diamondbacks

FanDuel Price: $6,800

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

The New York Mets are projected for 4.4 runs against Braden Shipley, which should keep him off the radar with today's loaded pitching pool.

Why You Should Use Him:

Shipley, a converted shortstop, is seemingly improving with every start. He's twirled shutouts in two of his past three games, and now has his season ERA down to 2.96.

There are certainly some warning signs with Shipley, namely his ugly 17-to-12 strikeout-to-walk ratio, minuscule 8.5% soft-hit rate against, and 5.25 SIERA. However, coming off of a seven-inning shutout of the very team he faces tonight, one in which he also piled up 7 strikeouts and 54 FanDuel points, Shipley is worth a look in tournaments.

His opponent tonight, the Mets, have really struggled against righties this season, boasting the 27th-ranked wOBA, as well as the eighth-highest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching.

Shipley's peripherals suggest you should go nowhere near him in cash games, but his cheap price point and matchup make him intriguing in tournaments.
