Belmont Stakes Horse Racing Picks for Saturday 6/11/22

There are 13 races at Belmont Saturday with 8 Grade 1s including the $1.5 Million Belmont Stakes. Which horses should you bet on at FanDuel Racing?

Starting at 11:20 p.m. EST, we have 13 races at Belmont Park. Using numberFire’s projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets to make at FanDuel Racing.

As always, check the program for scratches and changes, and monitor the weather and track conditions.

(I will reference Equibase's Speed Figure in selected races, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions).

Race 9 is the $1 Million Met Mile with just five runners. The numberFire data shows the two favorites will battle it out, Flightline (3/5) and Speaker’s Corner (8/5).

Flightline has won all three of his starts by at least 11 lengths with regular rider Flavien Prat aboard again. He’s been off since winning his graded stakes debut at Santa Anita in December, and now stretches out to 1 mile in his first race outside California.

Speaker's Corner has three wins this year, including a front-running 4 ½ length Grade 1 win last race in April at Aqueduct. He’s also 2-for-2 at Belmont.

Aloha West (6/1) won five times last year including the Breeders’ Cup Sprint, and now tries 1 mile for the first time with Jose Ortiz riding.

Channel Maker and Gufo, Race 10

FanDuel Racing Odds: 8/1 and 3/1

Race 10 is the $750K Manhattan Stakes for older horses going 1 ¼ miles on the inner turf. The numberFire algorithm projects the order of finish as Gufo (3/1), L’Imperator (15/1) and Santin (7/2).

Santin is a steadily improving colt who could fire late and Gufo finished third in this race last year and projects to move forward again in his third start off a layoff having faced strong competition.

L’Imperator showed improved form to win a Grade 2 on this track last time, and carries lighter weight.

Channel Maker (8/1) to control the tempo and win his fifth Grade 1 race.

Mo Donegal and Nest, Race 11

FanDuel Racing Odds: 5/2 and 8/1

Race 11 is the $1.5 Million Belmont Stakes for 3-year-olds at 1 ½ miles. The numberFire data picks Mo Donegal (5/2) to win with We the People (2/1) and Creative Minister (6/1) hitting the board.

The favorite We the People won the Peter Pan here last month for his third win in four starts, but missed badly in the Arkansas Derby. Mo Donegal was fifth in the Derby after winning the Wood Memorial in his fastest race.

Fine filly Nest is top value and could surprise while Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike will not get the same fast pace as he did when pulling of the huge Derby upset.
