Trained by John Ortiz and ridden for the first time by two-time Belmont Stakes winner Joel Rosario, Barber Road was installed at 10/1 on the morning line odds.

Barber Road has two wins and four runner-up finishes in nine career starts. He’s been a stone-cold closer in his three-year-old campaign, including rallying from last when going way wide on the far turn to finish sixth in the Kentucky Derby.

Barber Road has been a consistent, hard-trying colt across six consecutive stakes races. He's gone without a win in that span, but he has finished runner-up four times.

He now runs in his ninth straight race without a 45-day break, and Horse Racing Nation and TVG note that nothing in his breeding or pace and speed configurations suggest Barber Road will thrive over the 1.5-mile distance in the Belmont Stakes.

Over the last 15 years, there have been eight Belmont winners who had double-digit odds, but Barber Road offers nearly no chance to pull the upset. Horse Racing Nation gives him a slight chance to finish top-four in the superfecta.
