Santa Anita Park Horse Racing Picks for Friday 6/11/21

Starting at 4:00 p.m. EST, we have nine races at Santa Anita Park. Using numberFire’s projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets.

As always, check the program for scratches and changes and monitor the weather and track conditions.

(I will reference Equibase's Speed Figure in selected races, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions.)

Can’t Stop This Man and Silver Moon Road, Race 2

FanDuel Racing Odds: 2/1 and 5/2

Race 2 is a high-end Maiden Claiming Race at 7 furlongs. The numberFire data likes Allaboutthemoney (6/1) to upset the favorite, Can’t Stop This Man (2/1), with leading jockey Juan Hernandez riding. The meet’s top jockey Flavien Prat rides Honor Among Men (5/2), who makes his second start since 2019 following a disappointing fifth-place finish in his return last month, when he faded in the stretch going 6 furlongs on the synthetic surface at Golden Gate.

Can’t Stop This Man makes his second start after finishing third in his debut at Keeneland. He broke slowly and ran better than his line for EPO trainer Phil D’Amato.

Allaboutthemoney is a son of Into Mischief, and he’s failed to break through in five starts, notching only one in-the-money finish. He returns to the track following his last race here going a route in February and has since been gelded.

Silver Moon Road (5/2) could vie for favoritism with a pair of second-place finishes up north at Golden Gate. His last race showed an 87 speed figure, which is the top last-race clip in this field, according to Horse Racing Radar. He’s been training at Santa Anita, and Guaranteed Tip Sheet makes Silver Moon Road a best bet with leading rider Tyler Baze aboard.

Nobu and Big Bell, Race 6

FanDuel Racing Odds: 5/2 and 4/1

Race 6 is a Maiden Claiming race for three-year-olds sprinting 6 furlongs. This is a deep group of nine runners, and the two favorites -- Consider Me Gone (4/1) and Nobu (5/2) -- are dropping in class.

Nobu is off a Maiden Special Weight with apprentice jockey Jessica Pyfer riding. She won four races in one day last month. Nobu will likely go the the lead and could hold up to win after fading in the stretch in her other three starts. Guaranteed Tip Sheet makes Nobu a best bet.

numberFire's algorithm projects Big Bell (4/1) to win in her career debut with Flavien Prat riding.

Jazz Hands and Harbored Memories, Race 7

FanDuel Racing Odds: 4/1 and 9/5

Race 7 is the featured Allowance race with going 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf. Two of the six runners -- Jazz Hands (4/1) and Sensemaker (20/1) -- are racing for the optional $100K claiming tag.

numberfire projects Jazz Hands to win, and he’s won 3-of-5 starts, including his last two. Jazz Hands dominated three weeks ago against Cal-breds and posted a career-best speed figure (96). Jockey Mario Gutierrez rides again.

Favorite Harbored Memories (9/5) will be a board hitter, according to numberFire, and he broke his maiden last month in a sharp turf sprint. He returns to dirt, where he finished second three times, including against Santa Anita Derby winner Rock Your World in his first start in February.
