Belmont Stakes Horse Racing Picks for Thursday 6/10/21

Starting at 3:05 p.m. EST, we have nine races at Belmont Park. Using numberFire’s projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets to make at FanDuel Racing.

As always, check for scratches and changes and monitor the weather and track conditions.

(I will reference Equibase's Speed Figure in selected races, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions.)

Screamin' By and Fetching, Race 4

FanDuel Racing Odds: 10/1 and 6/1

Race 4 is an Allowance race for state-bred fillies and mares sprinting 6 furlongs on the turf. The numberFire data notes that favorite Betsy Blue (8/5) and Fair Regis (3/1) will only run if the race is taken off the turf and run on the dirt. They are good win picks if they get into the gate.

Screamin By (10/1) offers value and good risk/reward with a chance to win and hit the board, according to Top Race Reports (TRR). She posted her best-ever speed rating of 92 last month in her ninth start when finishing third. She had a challenging trip and was caught between runners but moved well at the finish behind runner-up Silky Blue (5/2), who lost by a nose. Silky Blue is projected to hit the board, according to numberFire.

Fetching (6/1) is healthy and another runner that TRR's East Coast Handicapping Report believes can challenge at better odds. She’s healthy and will likely sit off the pace with leading jockey and Belmont Stakes winning rider Luis Saez riding her for the optional claiming tag of $45,000.

Eagle Pass and The Queens Jules, Race 5

FanDuel Racing Odds: 4/1 and 3/1

Race 5 is a claiming race at 6 furlongs. The top choice for both numberFire and TRR is Eagle Pass (4/1). He’s a well-bred son of Super Saver who has won nine times, including his last two starts at this track. He registered a solid 94 speed figure last race, and good form keeps him on top.

Race favorite Mr. Dougie Fresh (5/2) offers no betting value and has not raced for a year. The Queens Jules (3/1) missed in a wide open mile race but won in April and was also third in a minor stakes race in March with his best speed figure (93). Top jockey Jose Ortiz takes over the mount

Coastana and Linny Kate, Race 7

FanDuel Racing Odds: 10/1 and 7/2

Race 7 is a solid Allowance race for fillies and mares running the classic 1 1/4-mile distance on the inner turf. numberFire's algorithm projects High Opinion (3/1) to win with good pace tactics on a route of ground she should relish. She’s healthier and a threat with jockey Joe Bravo riding. Include her in exacta and trifecta wagering

Going for more value and longer odds, TRR likes the price and potential of Coastana (10/1), who broke her maiden two months ago at 1 1/8 miles as a heavy favorite. She’s a good-looking, well-bred horse with great action and can move forward again against winners with Luis Saez riding.

Linny Kate (7/2) is ready for longer, per TRR. She’s stringing races together for EPO trainer Chad Brown and needs to be included. She didn’t like the sloppy track last race but is a win contender based on her speed rating and run two races back when she finished a close third as the favorite.
