Santa Anita Park Horse Racing Picks for Saturday 3/20/21

Wedding Groom, Race 2
FanDuel Racing Odds: 12/1
Race 2 is an Optional Claimer for six three-year-olds racing 1 mile. The top pick of numberFire’s data is Club Cal (4/1), who numberFire has beating favorite None Above the Law (4/5). None Above the Law showed nothing in the San Felipe Stakes for EPO trainer Peter Miller. Wedding Groom (12/1) is the longest shot and an upset pick for Top Race Reports. He’s a son of Hard Spun and had two good efforts and in-the-money finishes over this track since his stakes race up north in December, when he was a non-factor. He ran on the lead last race and now stretches out off his best speed figure.
United, Race 7
FanDuel Racing Odds: 4/5
Race 7 is the $100K Grade II San Luis Rey Stakes. It’s a 1.5 mile route run on the downhill turf course. Both Top Race Reports and numberFire projects United (4/5), the favorite, to outduel and outlast the two EPO trained horses, Say the Word (5/2) and Masteroffoxhounds (5/2).
Top Race Reports notes the wonderful action and tactical abilities of United. The six-year-old won four graded stakes races last year, with three of them at Santa Anita, and also had a runner-up finish.
No Foolery Here and Special Mission, Race 9
FanDuel Racing Odds: 4/1 and 20/1
Race 9 is a Maiden Special Weight for three-year-olds racing 1 mile on the turf. We have a large field of 12 runners, and a number of them have had the opportunity to run long but to no avail. Top Race Reports and numberFire project No Foolery Here (4/1) to win. He finished fourth in his debut with a solid 85 speed figure. He’s also come back with four solid morning workouts and should improve sharply with leading jockey Flavien Prat riding.
Special Mission (20/1) is a big longshot who can also improve off his debut, according to Top Race Reports. and he gets more ground for EPO trainer Richard Baltas. Eagle Chief (4/1) has top turf rider Umberto Rispoli riding and is a projected in-the-money finisher by numberFire's algorithm.
