Keeneland Horse Racing Picks for Wednesday 10/14/20

There are eight races on Wednesday at Keeneland. Which horses should you bet on at FanDuel Racing?

It's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 1:05 p.m. EST, we have eight races at Keeneland. Using numberFire’s projections and Daily Horse Picks as a guide, here are some of the best bets.

As always, check the program for scratches and changes, and monitor the weather and track conditions.

(I will reference Equibase's Speed Figure in selected races, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions.)

Panterita and Folly, Race 2

FanDuel Racing Odds: 3/1 and 4/1

Race 2 is a Claiming race for fillies and mares going 1 1/16 miles, and Guaranteed Tip Sheet has a best bet on Panterita (3/1). She won in July at this distance with her best 79 speed figure and then raced against better without success.

Daily Horse Picks algorithm has Double Oaked (3/1) to win in front of Panterita. Double Oaked has raced 31 times with just 2 wins, but the six-year-old is improving her speed figures and won two months ago and then finished a distant second last month with a 78 speed figure.

The numberFire projection picks Spartanka (4/1) to win in front of Double Oaked. Spartanka has a class advantage but failed to finish in-the-money in her last four starts against better runners. She won in May with a 91 speed figure and overcame fast fractions.

The favorite Lady McKenzie (5/2) is winless in her last three starts but did win in July when pressing the pace. Folly (4/1) is sired by Super Saver, and she ran her best last summer with speed figures that fit well here. She now races for just the second time since February after having finishing fourth last month.

Market Rumor, Race 4

FanDuel Racing Odds: 7/5

Race 4 is an Allowance race for fillies and mares going 1 1/16 miles. The favorite, Market Rumor (7/5), will take money, and is the top pick of numberFire. She broke her maiden at Keeneland in July with an 86 speed figure, and then raced in a pair of stakes races, finishing second five weeks ago after making up ground in the stretch on the favorite only to lose by a neck.

Daily Horse Picks projects Glamour Girl (3/1) and Ria Munk (3/1) to beat the favorite to the finish line. Glamour Girl finally broke her maiden in her last race and 10th start while hitting an 84 speed figure. She also posted a 91 speed figure this summer and will be running hard from off the pace late. Ria Munk finished second in her last two races, which included a 90 ESF, and was runner-up in four of her last seven races.

Call on Mischief and Lexi On the Move, Race 7

FanDuel Racing Odds: 5/1 and 7/2

Race 7 is a featured Allowance race for three-year-old fillies sprinting 6 furlongs. Daily Horse Picks (DHP) projects Call on Mischief (5/1) to win, as well as Charming Lady (4/1) and Ceci Valentina (9/2) to hit the board. Guaranteed Tip Sheet has a best bet on Lexi On the Move (7/2) to win and edge Call on Mischief, while numberFire has those two also running best with Call on Mischief projected to win.

Call on Mischief won her last race by six lengths two months ago as the favorite against some older horses with a 93 speed figure. She worked a very sharp workout recently and appears ready to fire again. Solid value but will likely be bet down.

Charming Lady is a well-bred filly who has finished first or second in four of her six starts this year and should be included in exacta and trifecta wagers.

Lexi on the Move had two bullet works prior to finishing third at this distance last month. She’s ready to run better in her third race off the layoff. Note that she won her first two races this year to start her career while posing 90-plus speed figures.
