Parx Horse Racing Picks for Monday 10/5/20

Starting at 12:55 p.m. EST, we have 10 races at Parx. Using numberFire’s projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets.

(I will reference Equibase's Speed Figure in selected races, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions.)
It’s So Easy, Race 1
FanDuel Racing Odds: 3/1
Race 1 is a Claiming race for fillies and mares going 7 furlongs. Despite just two wins in 12 starts, favorite Twirling Liz (8/5) is the consensus top choice by numberFire’s projections along with Daily Horse Picks (DHP) and Guaranteed Tip Sheet (GTS).
Twirling Liz has been racing mostly at Laurel Park and won in February with her best speed figure (90). She is 0-for-3 since and finished third last out in July as the favorite. Still, against this weaker group, DHP rates her speed and class the best.
The track's leading jockey, Mychel Sanchez, rides It’s So Easy (3/1), who had a decisive off-the-pace win in July over the Parx dirt surface. She tried the turf going longer three weeks ago and finished a well-beaten second.
With Me Without Me and Florencia, Race 5
FanDuel Racing Odds: 5/1 and 9/5
Race 5 is a smaller Claiming race for fillies and mares racing 1 mile. The algorithm for numberFire projects race favorite Florencia (9/5) to win, and GTS makes Florencia a best bet. She has shown little speed in her last two races, finishing runner-up and then winning decisively at this level and distance with a 59 speed figure.
Nancy B (3/1) has not finished in-the-money in her last six starts this year. Supergirl Power (12/1) has not run like her name and is 0-for-8 this year. She did finish runner-up in August running on the lead before getting caught in the deep stretch. With Me Without Me (5/1) missed the board last race but was well in front of Supergirl Power. She won at this level and track in July as the favorite and is a good bet to hit the board or potentially win at better odds.
Baptize the Boy, Race 9
FanDuel Racing Odds: 5/2
Race 9 is an Allowance race and 6 furlong sprint. DHP projects Mister Humor (7/2) to upset the favorite Appealing Future (9/5).
Mister Humor won his last race against non-winners of two races. He races for the first time at Parx in his 21st start.
Appealing Future has won 11 times, and the 6-year-old enters off back-to-back wins and a 99 speed figure last race just two weeks ago.
Baptize the Boy (5/2) has finished in-the-money in five straight starts since June, including a decisive wire-to-wire win last out over this track with a 94 speed figure. Top form and win contender.
