Lone Star Park Horse Racing Picks for Tuesday 7/21/20
With most of the sports world on pause, it's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.
Starting at 2:35 p.m. EST today, we have nine races at Lone Star Park. Using our projections as a guide, here's a look at some of the best bets.
As always, keep an eye out for scratches and changes.
(I will be referencing Equibase's Speed Figure, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions)

True Castle, Race 4 (4:11 PM)
FD Racing Odds: 8/5
True Castle is both numberFire's top pick and the current betting favorite. The filly has won three of her last five races, posting a figure of 86 or better in all five -- her most recent effort topped out at 95. The four-year-old will have Ramon Vazquez in saddle. Vazquez is up to second in purse now at Lone Star, after winning 23 of his last 75 outings (30.7%).
Next up is Elusive Rose (6/1). This filly has placed top-three in four of her last five, including a win at Sunland Park in March with a figure of 92. He workout here a week ago was superb. Wishful Quality (4/1) should be among the top finishers. The four-year-old has won 6 of her 12 career races, including one of two here at Lone Star. She's had figures of 94 and 88 in her last three. She'll be ridden by top jockey Stewart Elliott, who's been in a bit of a slump (by his standards) lately. Miss Kitty Mae (10/1) has longer odds but could be in the mix.
Okie Queen, Race 5 (4:43 PM)
FD Racing Odds: 8/1
Okie Queen has won three of six career outings and has posted figures of 84-plus in four of six. Her debut at Lone Star saw her achieve a figure of 91 in a third-place finish. She's also had some top-notch workouts at this track since the beginning of June.
Coupled horses Love On Tides and Zamzam (3/1) have an excellent opportunity in this Allowance event. Love On Tides has shown solid form of late and has shown the capability to reach speed figures in the mid-90s. Zamzam is fresh off a figure of 90 in her first race at Lone Star in 2020. Amandrea (2/1) is both the current betting favorite and our model's winning pick. She's reached figures of 83 or better in three straight, including a 91 showing six weeks ago. Cypress Point (6/1) has the figures to be thereabouts.
Sweet Linda, Race 6 (5:15 PM)
FD Racing Odds: 3/1
This Maiden Special Weight features six horses making their debuts. Sweet Linda has four career races, with the last three coming here at Lone Star. She's posted figures of 77, 62, and 59 in those three, including two second-place finishes. Stewart Elliott is a top jockey booking here.
Gidget (2/1) is the current betting favorite making her debut, and our model likes her too. Her workouts since the start of June have been elite. In Disguise (6/1) is not to be discounted with her figures. Geh Mythicalqueen (30/1) is a longshot worth a "win" bet.
