Gulfstream Park Horse Racing Picks for Wednesday 7/15/20

Gulfstream Park has 10 races slated for today. Which horses should you bet on at FanDuel Racing?

With most of the sports world on pause, it's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 12:00 p.m. EST today, we have 10 races at Gulfstream Park. Using our projections as a guide, here's a look at some of the best bets.

As always, keep an eye out for scratches and changes.

(I will be referencing Equibase's Speed Figure, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions)

Causingahullbaloo, Race 4 (1:34 PM)

FD Racing odds: 6/1

Race 4 is a wide-open $55K Maiden Special Weight with 11 runners, 6 of whom are making their debuts. numberFire's model's have Causingahullbaloo placing third, but I like the filly's chances. The two-year-old will be ridden by Edgard Zayas, who is first in purse at Gulfstream in 2020. Additionally, trainer Mark Casse is one of the best in the world. Causingahullbaloo has had some solid outings leading up to this event.

Naval Wave (9/2) is out model's projected runner-up finisher, and she is an enticing pick, without a doubt. Jockeyed by Emisael Jaramillo, who is always among the most successful at this track, Naval Wave is in good hands. In her second career race, Whistler Dixie (12/1) is one to keep an eye on. Her efforts here since her race in May have been superb. Our model has Frankly My Dear (3/1) winning.

Justcuzifeellikeit, Race 5 (2:05 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 8/1

Another Maiden Special Weight, this one for three- and four-year-olds going five furlongs. Justcuzifeellikeit is out model's top pick, and the colt does have a great chance on these figures. In his last two outings, Justcauseifeellikeit has reached speed figures of 74 and 82, impressive for this field. He'll be jockeyed by Samy Camacho, who has won 18.5% of his races over the last three years.

Current betting favorite R Private Jet (2/1) is making his debut, but the gelding has had some damn impressive workouts at Gulfstream since mid-June. Having the aforementioned Emisael Jaramillo in the saddle does not hurt. R Ninja J K (6/1) is racing for the third time, after finishing as the runner-up in his first two. The gelding reached figures of 71 and 74 in those efforts, and his outing here five days ago was superb. Getthe Muny Bernie (7/2) had a piss-poor outing his last time out in May but has since shown fantastic form. Reinoanimaux (20/1) is fresh off a figure of 87 and should garner consideration in exotics.

Loriloupies, Race 9 (4:13 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 7/5

This Allowance Optional Claiming features seven horses going six furlongs. Recommending a heavy favorite is never fun, but it's hard to deny Loriloupies' chances in this one. The filly has won each of her last two, with figures of 78 and 87 in those efforts, respectively. Her workouts since her last win show a three-year-old ready to dominate. With Jaramillo and an elite trainer that consistently has his horses winning north of 20% of their outings, Loriloupies is in good hands.

R U Royalty (8/1) enters this race with figures of 88 and 85 in her last two. She placed first and second in those outings, respectively. Jeana's Gem (5/1) has top-three finishes in five of her six career races, achieving figures above 70 in all five of those efforts. Her most recent race in May saw her post a figure of 84. Thisismytime (9/2) has the figures and jockey to be well in the mix here. Sonar (12/1) is a longshot who should be thereabouts.
