Parx Racing Horse Racing Picks for Wednesday 7/8/20

Parx Racing has a 10-race slate on Wednesday afternoon. Which horses should you place a wager on at FanDuel Racing?

With most of the sports world on pause, it's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 12:55 p.m. EST, we have 10 races at Parx Racing. Using our projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets.

As always, keep an eye out for scratches and changes.

(I will be referencing Equibase's speed figure, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions.)

Galerio, Race 3 (1:49 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 5/2

Odds favorite Galerio finished fifth in his 2020 debut back in January, but he's since rattled off three wins and a runner-up. The gelding has consistently notched solid speed figures over that stretch (83, 92, 85, and 85), and he's numberFire's top choice to take Race 3.

Dance For Oro (9/2) and True Blue (7/2) have also put up comparable speed figures lately, with Dance For Oro standing out, in particular, after cracking the 90s in three of the last four. numberFire's model picks Dance For Oro to place third.

Powerful Venezuela (5/1) may not consistently match the figures of the above competitors, but Frankie Pennington could be a great equalizer. He's one of the top jockeys at this track, with a 21% win rate and 53% top-three rate.

Aspen Xtreme, Race 8 (4:04 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 6/1

With this race getting moved from turf to dirt, many of the top competitors have scratched, potentially opening the door for Aspen Xtreme. Pennington will be guiding him, so we have to like his chances of besting the smaller field. The gelding was a winner just a couple weeks back and has similar speed figures with the remaining competitors.

Paul the Waiter (7/2) has the most consistent figures of the bunch, and with the scratches, he moves up as numberFire's top pick. Can't Pass It Up (12/1) placed third in his last race and hit a career-high 102 figure in March.

Madam Meena, Race 9 (4:31 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 4/1

We have similar situation in Race 9, which is also moving to the dirt. However, numberFire's favorite, Madam Meena, remains in the contest. The filly has produced the best speed figures in this field, including 83 and 93 in her last two races, resulting in a runner-up and win. In fact, she's tasted victory in three of five career races, which have all come in 2020. Angel R. Rodriguez should be an asset, too -- he's a top-three earner at this track in 2020.

numberFire's model also likes Clever Sarah (5/2) to finish runner-up. Clever Sarah hasn't raced yet this year but had back-to-back wins in September. Cardi G (10/1) has finished third in each of her last three races and can hang with the speed figures of Clever Sarah.
