Indiana Grand Horse Racing Picks for 6/25/20

With most of the sports world on pause, it's a great time to dive into horse racing, and TVG gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 2:20 p.m. EST, we have 10 races at Indiana Grand. Let's look at some of the best bets.

As always, keep an eye out for scratches and changes.

Classy Cowboy, Race 1

TVG Odds: 5/1

Race 1 looks like a pretty balanced field across the board. DailyHorsePicks.com gives each of the seven horses in the field win odds of at least 12%, with the favorite -- Two Last Words (4/5) -- having just a 16% chance to win. That incentivizes us to pass on Two Last Words in favor of some more appealing odds.

That's where Classy Cowboy (5/1) comes in. The gelding has been in the top two in each of his last five outings, winning twice in that span. Overall, he has been in the top three in seven of nine career races, according to Equibase. DHP ranks Classy Cowboy first in pace rating and second in speed rating. Jockey Deshawn Parker has a 21% win rate at Indiana Grand so far in 2020, and DHP hands Classy Cowboy 14% win odds as well as a 42% chance of getting in the top three.

All in all, while Two Last Words looks like a deserving favorite, there's plenty of value in taking Classy Cowboy to win or place.

Chapel Barn, Race 6

TVG Odds: 8/1

Race 6 has two overwhelming favorites -- Majestic John's (1/1) and Rayo De Luz (7/5). That implies win odds of 50% and 41.7%, respectively, but I think there's value in looking elsewhere. DHP agrees as they give Majestic John's only 15% win odds and Rayo De Luz just 17% win odds.

Chapel Barn (8/1) checks some boxes at longer odds. DHP has the gelding with a 15% chance to win, same as Majestic John's, and Chapel Barn has a victory and a runner-up finish across his past five events, hitting a career-best speed figure last time out. He's first in the field -- by some distance -- in both pace and speed rating, per DHP. He also has a successful jockey on board in Fernando De La Cruz, who has a 55% top-three rate here in 2020.

English Challenge, Race 8

TVG Odds: 7/2

TVG has English Challenge (7/2) as just the third-favorite in Race 8, but there's a lot to like with this gelding. He's been in the top three in four of his last five events, with the one exception being a fourth-place effort. That fourth-place run was the only race in his six-event career in which he's been outside the top three.

DHP picks English Challenge to win, giving him race-best win odds of 14%, and they also rank him second in speed, narrowly behind Overpraise (3/1). In his last race here, English Challenge posted a career-best speed figure, and the aforementioned De La Cruz will be on board.
