Parx Racing Horse Racing Picks for Tuesday 6/23/20

Parx Racing has a 10-race slate on Tuesday afternoon. Which horses should you place a wager on at FanDuel Racing?

With most of the sports world on pause, it's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 12:55 p.m. EST, we have 10 races at Parx Racing. Using our projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets.

As always, keep an eye out for scratches and changes.

(I will be referencing Equibase's Speed Figure, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions.)

Risque's Jewels, Race 7 (3:37 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 9/2

Risque's Jewels stands out in Race 7, coming off a third-place finish in March with a 64 speed figure -- her best mark of 2020 -- in addition to a 58 as a runner-up in February. That form compares favorably to those horses with shorter odds in Rolls Royce Joyce and One Tough Rose (5/1; coupled) and Congrats Answer (7/2).

Not only that, but Risque's Jewels could have yet another gear in her, as she produced a career-high 73 speed figure this past September. Her top three competitors have never recorded a speed figure above the low 60s.

Mychel J. Sanchez should also be a welcome asset. Sanchez was her jockey in those last two races and enters with a 21% win rate and 49% top-three rate in 2020.

numberFire's model is a fan of newcomer Cartouche (6/1), who should be in good hands for her debut with Frankie Pennington. The filly's parents are Liam's Map and Garnet Crystals.

Flat Out Beautiful, Race 8 (4:04 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 5/2 (Coupled)

Flat Out Beautiful sure had some beautiful form in his 2020 debut back in February, recording a 108 speed figure in victory -- his second triple-digit figure in his last four races. He's coming off a strong 2019 campaign, too, finishing top-three in 8 of 11 races with two wins and three runner-ups.

The aforementioned Frankie Pennington is his regular jockey, too, and is producing as he always does with a 20% win rate and 52% top-three rate.

It all lines up to numberFire's model picking Flat Out Beautiful as today's Race 8 winner.

And if all that wasn't enough, Flat Out Beautiful is coupled with True Blue as an added bonus. True Blue hasn't shown quite the same upside but has posted solid speed figures in 2020 (82, 93, 87, 87).

Hitmewthurbestshot, Race 9 (4:31 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 10/1

Race 9 favorite Final Shot (5/2) is numberFire's pick to win. Final shot is coming off a career-high 95 speed figure in March and will have Mychel J. Sanchez on board. Finishing top-two in all three of his 2020 outings, Final Shot is definitely worth a look.

But if you're looking for potentially more bang for your buck, longer shot Hitmewthurbestshot is intriguing after busting out with his own career-best 100 speed figure in February. His rider, Angel R. Rodriguez, is certainly no slouch, either, winning and placing top-three at 22% and 50% clips, respectively, this year.

Hitmewthurbestshot's results have been up and down -- hence the odds -- but he's hit speed figures in the mid-to-high 90s in each of the past two years, so a repeat of that last race isn't out of the question.
