Gulfstream Park Horse Racing Picks for Wednesday 6/17/20

With most of the sports world on pause, it's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 12:00 p.m. EST, we have 10 races at Gulfstream Park. Using our projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets.

As always, keep an eye out for scratches and changes.

(I will be referencing Equibase's Speed Figure, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions)

Estilo Talentoso, Race 4 (1:34 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 7/5

Both numberFire's model and Timeform agree that Estilo Talentoso is the pick in Race 4, and I wholeheartedly agree.

The filly may still be searching for her first win, but she hasn't dropped below third place in any of her five career races (3-2-2-2-2), all of which have come in 2020. Her last three speed figures (79, 84, 86) best the high-water marks of all the top contenders in this race, and she's also looked the part in recent workouts.

Jockey Samy Camacho is yet another boost to Estilo Talentoso's profile, too, as Camacho has an 18% win rate and 48% top-three rate in 2020.

Uncork The Bottle, Race 8 (3:41 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 7/2

You can go in a lot of different directions for Race 8, but Uncork The Bottle will be tough to beat if he can maintain the peak form he's shown lately.

Uncork The Bottle already has three wins and a pair of runner-ups over his first seven career races, and he posted a career-best 95 speed figure in February. Although he dropped to 79 in March, he jumped back up to 90 in May, giving us confidence that he can be a contender today. Rebelde (5/2) and Dynadrive (3/1) have hit a 91 speed figure only once in their respective careers, and Blessed Journey (3/1) has a career-best of 81.

Veteran jockey Joe Bravo should also be an asset for Uncork The Bottle.

Bad Beat Brian (4/1) has been up and down lately, but he could also be in the mix with a career-best 97 speed figure in February.

Quenane, Race 9 (4:13 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 4/1

numberFire's model has Ice Tea (7/2) and Quenane finishing first and second, but I'm siding with Quenane for the win. Ice Tea was a force to be reckoned with this past summer but hasn't achieved a triple-digit speed figure in any of his past four races.

Quenane underwhelmed in his last race, but prior to that, he rattled off three straight wins and earned a career-high 102 speed figure in February. If he shows that form today, he will be tough to beat. Jockey Cristian A. Torres is cracking the top three at a 39% rate this year.

Indimaaj (3/1) and Tiz Approved (5/1) are both coming off impressive May showings, so they could also be factors.
