Gulfstream Park Horse Racing Picks for Thursday 5/14/20

With most of the sports world on pause, it's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 1:00 p.m. EST, we have 10 races at Gulfstream Park. Using our projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets.

As always, keep an eye out for scratches and changes.

Lookn Fine As Wine and Dona Camile, Race 1

FD Racing Odds: 12/1 and 10/1

Our models see value in these two in Race 1, projecting Lookn Fine As Wine (12/1) to take second and pegging Dona Camile (10/1) for third.

While Dona Camile has a pair of lackluster finishes over two career races (ninth and eighth, according to Timeform), both of which gave come at Gulfstream, the filly grades out with the second-best speed rating in the 14-horse field, per

As for Lookn Fine As Wine, she has just one top-three showing in 11 career events, but she is familiar with the track, racing each of her previous five races at Gulfstream. All of those races have gone a mile, which is the length of today's opener. Lookn Fine As Wine has the fifth-best speed rating in the field.

El Sorocho (3/1) is the favorite, owns the best speed rating and is who our projections have winning. So she's clearly worth a look. But for more bang for your buck, check out Lookn Fine As Wine and Dona Camile.

Dizzy Gillespie, Race 5

FD Racing Odds: 7/2

Race 5 is slated to be a seven-horse field, and our projections have Dizzy Gillespie (7/2) crossing the finish line first.

Over the gelding's past five races, four of which have come at this track, he has he has four top-four finishes -- including a win and two thirds. For his career, he's tallied 21 top-three finishes in 39 events, per Equibase. He had a very successful 2019, coming in the top three in eight of 11 events, with five of those being wins.

DailyHorsePicks gives Dizzy Gillespie a 17% chance to win and a 50% chance of finishing in the top three, both of which are tied for the best marks in the field.

Napa Rules and Chit Chat Girl, Race 8

FD Racing Odds: 3/1 and 8/1

Going by recent results, the field in Race 8 is a stout one.

We project Chit Chat Girl (8/1) to come out on top. The filly has pretty spicy recent form (3-2-5-3-1) and should be primed to thrive at a distance of 6.5 furlongs, as she's run 7 furlongs or a mile in three of her last five outings.

She's been in the top three in six of her eight career races, doing so in three of four events in 2020. Chit Chat Girl has taken third and second in two career races at Gulfstream.

Napa Rules (3/1), the favorite, checks a few boxes, too. She won her last time out on May 10 -- which was at Gulfstream -- and has a race-best 17% chance to win, per DailyHorsePicks.
