Will Rogers Downs Horse Racing Picks for Tuesday 5/12/20

Starting at 2:15 p.m. EST, we have 10 races at Will Rogers Downs. Using our projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets.
I'm An Eight and Travel West, Race 2
FD Racing Odds: 8/1 and 12/1
Our models see value in Race 2 as we have this pair taking first and second, with I'm An Eight (8/1) our pick to win.
I'm An Eight has a pretty nice recent history, though the gelding hasn't yet run at Will Rogers Downs, per Equibase. Over his last four races, all of which have come at Turf Paradise, I'm An Eight has recorded one win, two seconds and a seventh. The win came in his last event, a race that went 7.5 furlongs. Today's race is a bit longer at one mile.
Travel West (12/1) won twice across 10 races in 2019, but he's gone fifth and seventh in a pair of 2020 results. On the bright side, he hasn't run a race shorter than a mile in any of his last five events, so the distance shouldn't be an issue for Travel West.
L.A. Tower (5/2) is the favorite, and while the gelding's recent form is pretty dope (3-2-1-2-6), DailyHorsePicks.com gives him one of the lesser speed ratings in the field.
In all, I'm an Eight is likely the better bet than Travel West, though our projections like Travel West, too. DailyHorsePicks gives I'm An Eight a 20% chance to win along with a 66% chance of finishing in the top three.
I Am Ready Again, Race 5
FD Racing Odds: 15/1
I'm reaching a bit here, but I Am Ready Again ticks a few boxes as a long shot in Race 5.
For starters, our projections have the gelding getting third despite him carrying the sixth-best odds. While he hasn't had the best form so far in 2020 (a fifth and a fourth), I Am Ready Again won five times in 12 races in 2019, with three wins in eight events in 2018.
Also, this race -- which is six furlongs (3/4 of a mile) -- is down in distance for him. He's run at least one mile in each of his last five events.
Betting on I Am Ready Again to win has its risks, but it looks like a gamble worth taking.
Angel's Cut, Race 9
FD Racing Odds: 15/1
This should be a dandy of a race. Overall, the field has combined for 13 wins across each horse's last five races. Angel's Cut is a long shot in Race 9 who our models pick to win in what is slated to be a 12-horse field, with the race at 5.5 furlongs.
A filly, Angel's Cut has finished in the top three in each of her last four races, winning once, which came back on March 18 at Fair Grounds. All four of those recent races were either 5.5 or 6 furlongs. Over her career, Angel's Cut has finished inside the top three in eight of 13 races, including four of five in 2019.
In a pretty stout field, Angel's Cut should hold her own.
