Remington Park Horse Racing Picks for Saturday 5/9/20
With most of the sports world on pause, it's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.
Starting at 7 p.m. EST tonight, we have 10 races at Remington Park. Using our projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets.
One Famous Birdie, Race 1
FD Racing Odds: 5/1
The overwhelming favorite in Race 1 is Aint She Tempting, who is at 4/5. That implies win odds of 55.6%. Like I said, overwhelming. And the filly has -- by far -- the top speed rating, per DailyHorsePicks.com. Both our projections and the odds at DailyHorsePicks have Aint She Tempting -- who has come in first and second in her two career races at Remington, according to Timeform -- as the favorite.
But at 4/5, she may be too big of a favorite. That leads me to One Famous Birdie.
Another filly, One Famous Birdie is at 5/1 and has the second-best win odds going by both our models and DailyHorsePicks. This race goes 350 yards. One Famous Birdie went 330 yards in her last race, taking third and losing 1.3 lengths. Aint She Tempting has never run a race over 300 yards.
There's value in betting on One Famous Birdie, who DailyHorsePicks gives a 44% chance of finishing in the top three in Saturday's opener.
Df Fabulous Sign and Katch This Eagle, Race 6
FD Racing Odds: 12/1 and 20/1
Our models see value in betting on these two horses in Race 6. This is looking like a very balanced field, with the speed ratings fairly even across the board.
Instygator (8/5) is the favorite, but we have Df Fabulous Sign and Katch This Eagle taking first and second, respectively, with Instygator finishing third.
Df Fabulous Sign has run twice at Remington, taking fourth and seventh. The fourth-place showing was in the filly's last race, one in which she was just 1.3 lengths off the winner. Katch This Eagle has run just once before at this track, finishing seventh in a nine-horse field, but the gelding is tied for the second-best speed rating in the field.
Overall this looks like it could be a volatile race, so it's a good spot to roll the dice on a horse other than the favorite.
Jessa Bit Of Candy, Race 9
FD Racing Odds: 2/1
Jessa Bit of Candy is the favorite (2/1), and both DailyHorsePicks and our projections are on board, expecting the gelding to win. DailyHorsePicks gives him a 17% chance to win and a 48% chance to be in the top three.
He's run twice at Remington, finishing second both times -- only 0.05 and 0.5 behind the winner in those events. The speed ratings are high for several horses in this field so it should be a quick race. With that said, no one else in the field has finished better than third before at this track.
Jessa Bit Of Candy is a favorite worth betting on.
