Kickers and Defense

One of the more laughable things about draft kits and projections are when they try to project kickers. I mean really, they're by far the most volatile and random position of them all. You know generally who's got a better leg, a better offense, and so on - but it's absolutely in the hands of how well that team finishes drives and how well their opposition performs on one-play spurts. Don't take them with anything more than the biggest grain of salt ever.

Defensively, it's a bit easier but not that much. When it comes to choosing a D, there's two avenues you can take: you can take the defense that is statistically sound, limits points, and generally plays a tough game. Alternatively, you can look for a defense that may not be the best in terms of raw numbers, but has the tendency to ballhawk turnovers and turn them into defensive TDs, especially in advantageous and soft matchups.
