4 FanDuel Premier League Studs to Target for Matchweek 29

Romelu Lukaku is extremely goal-reliant, but he has a mouth-watering home matchup against Hull City.

As is the case when playing any sport on FanDuel, it’s imperative to hit on high-priced studs, the players in which you’ve made the biggest investment. This is especially true with strikers in soccer as goals are often the difference between winning and losing in DFS.

Let’s take a look at some high-priced players -- all across the pitch -- who, despite costing a good chunk of change, are worth the investment.

This article is geared toward Saturday's main slate, which starts 10:00 a.m. EST and features six matches.

Matchweek 29

Chelsea at Stoke City
Hull City at Everton
Watford at Crystal Palace
Burnley at Sunderland
Leicester City at West Ham
Swansea City at Bournemouth

Let's get to it.

Forward

Romelu Lukaku, Everton

FanDuel Price: $12,600

We hit on Joshua King (hat trick, 71.25 FanDuel points) last week, electing to fade Lukaku, who did end up scoring a goal and finishing with 38.25 fantasy points. Everton is in such a dreamy spot this week -- the Toffees are a one-goal favorite at home against lowly Hull City -- that pivoting off Lukaku is a terrifying proposition.

The Belgian is in fine form, scoring seven goals with one assist over his last five matches. With that said, he's so goal-reliant that he's always a bit scary -- he's scored single-digit fantasy points three times in his last seven games.

The matchup here is just too good, though. Hull have allowed 54 goals, tied for the second-most in the Premier League, in 28 league matches. They sit 15th in possession (46.5%) and allow the 3rd-most shots per match (17.5).

If you want to stay off Lukaku, King ($8,700) is again in a nice spot with a home game against Swansea. Diego Costa ($11,800) is another option as the Blues are tied with Everton as the biggest favorites on the slate.

Midfielder

Gylfi Sigurdsson, Swansea City

FanDuel Price: $10,500

Five of the seven most expensive midfielders this week play for Chelsea, but none of the Blues can match what Sigurdsson has done of late. The dude is on one.

Leicester01220.25
Chelsea01222.25
Burnley01536.5
Hull01433

Sigurdsson has tallied either an assist or a goal in each of his last seven matches, but he's actually averaging 20.45 FanDuel points in the last five matches in which he's gone without a goal or assist.

Sigurdsson is as safe as they come in midfield, and his matchup with Bournemouth is a pretty solid one. The Cherries are allowing the seventh-most shots per match, and their 54 goals allowed ties them with Hull for the second-most in the Premier League.

Defender

Harry Maguire, Hull City

FanDuel Price: $6,400

Maguire has cemented himself as one of the most consistent high-end plays at the defender spot, scoring at least 17 FanDuel points in 14 straight matches.

He doesn't do much coming forward (just one assist and no goals), but Hull's tendency to absorb pressure gives him plenty of chances to rack up defensive actions. Over his last three matches, Maguire is averaging 10.3 clearances while scoring an average of 9.5 FanDuel points per match from passes.

As we mentioned earlier, Everton is a one-goal favorite in this one, which will be played at the Toffees Goodison Park. Hull is allowing 18.1 shots per match away from home, and all signs point to the Tigers' back line being under siege.

Goalie

Tom Heaton, Burnley

FanDuel Price: $7,000

After an insane hot streak, Heaton has cooled over his last three games, but two of those fixtures came against Liverpool and Chelsea, two of the best teams in the Premier League. This weekend, he gets a matchup with Sunderland, a side which sits in last place.

The Black Cats have scored a meager 24 goals in 27 matches, and they average 9.6 shots per outing, the second-fewest in the league. On the flip side, Burnley are allowing a league-high 18.3 shots per match, the most in the Premier League.

Burnley's poor defense should keep Heaton fairly active, and facing a Sunderland side that's been blanked in each of its last three matches gives him a good shot at a clean sheet.
