"Regular-Free" V.S "Custom" Optimal Lineups
Quick Question:

This is regarding today's NBA Optimal Lineups. There are 2 different sections in which to get the optimal lineup for each site.

The first one I believe is free and is just your generic NBA Optima Lineup. Let's just use Fanduel for example. The optimal lineup looks like this.

Kawhi Leonard
Isaiah Thomas
Blake Griffin
Jimmy Butler
Kemba Walker
Jamal Crawford
Jared Sullinger
Alex Len
Justise Winslow

But then if I go to the other selection which is "Custom" optimal lineups and don't exclude or include any players, the lineup looks like this:

Kawhi Leonard - SAME
Isaiah Thomas - SAME
Blake Griffin - SAME
Justice Winslow - SAME
Alex Len - SAME
Pao Gasol - DIFFERENT
Louis Williams - DIFFERENT
OJ Mayo - DIFFERENT
Kyle Lowry - DIFFERENT

Basically what I'm asking, is why would there be a difference in optimal lineups if I don't choose to exclude/include players. Why are the lineups not identical.

Also, I believe in this case itself, it's because Kemba Walker is hurt and for some reason is included in the regular optimal lineup, but not the custom lineup.

In any other instance thought, would there be any reason that these two lineups aren't identical?

Thanks for any input.

Pretty simple, there is an extra layer of curation in the "optimal lineup" vs the "custom optimal lineup tool". With the optimal lineup, our team pulls out any players that may be riskier based on player news and status updates. In the custom optimal lineup tool, we wont pull out players who are questionable, since the user (you) can rule any players out you aren't interested in based on your risk tolerance. Hope this was helpful.
