Questions
Give Kris Bryant, get Jose Abreu?
Was just offered this trade in my 10 team H2H league.

Both guys have 1 year of keeper eligibility remaining. Can keep Bryant for $0 next year. Abreu would cost me $15 to keep next year (normal $260 auction budget).

My other 3B-eligible players are Ryan Zimmerman, Maikel Franco, and Xander Bogaerts.

My 1B-eligible players are Lucas Duda, Ryan Zimmerman, and Victor Martinez.

Pull the trigger??

I would keep Bryant. You have depth at first base and the trade would definitely thin you out at third base (and lose the versatility you have with Zim). Plus, the $15 extra next year will be a nice little bonus for your working capital in the draft.

You have to also consider that the MLB will, more than likely, eventually begin to figure Bryant out quite a bit, therefor slowing him down from his torrid pace.. That is at least a more accurate than not theory that has held true with the majority of upcoming players who have been promoted from the minors, and came to the Big Leagues blazing hot right out of the gate.. Do you remember Jeff Francouer for the Braves? He immediately produced homers and numbers like an all star or even MVP from the start and for most of his first season, but even towards the end he began to be figured out and then eventually became an epic bust... I'm not saying Bryant will be, because I think he'll be great for years, but I'm saying that I'd keep in mind that more than likely he will begin to cool off.. So then you have to consider if what Abreau has proven, with that price, is enough for you to give up Bryant.. Saying all of that, after looking at your lineup, I probably would stick it out with Bryant, even though Abreau is more proven. Hope this has helped. Good luck!

I'm a Cardinals fan, and I wouldn't let go of that Cubbie. Your depth at 3B is so week in comparison to your depth at 1B.
