Defense question again.
Well, crap. I keep bringing this topic back up, but....

I own Detroit's D/ST and have no intention of letting them go during their bye next week. I've plucked Cincinnati's defense from waivers, burning a precious bench spot to do so, so I didn't have to fight and claw with other owners to scoop up a defense with a good Week 9 matchup (Cincy plays Jacksonville at home). But now I'm considering taking a gamble to grab another position player that hit waivers this week, and the Bengals occupy the only spot I can really free up for now.

So with the following options available, should I hold the Bengals or risk dropping them and potentially losing out on getting them back next week? The other available options after a busy add/drop week in my league this week (listed with their Week 9 matchup):

San Francisco 49ers (v. St. Louis Rams)
San Diego Chargers (@ Miami Dolphins)
Washington Redskins (@Minnisota Vikings)
Arizona Cardinals (@ Dallas Cowboys)
...and, again, Cincinnati Bengals (v. Jacksonville)

In your mind, would the 49ers, Chargers, or even Redskins be a significant dropoff from the Bengals' plum matchup? Is it significant enough that I should hold fast?

In short, I suppose, can you just rank the above D/STs for their Week 9 playability? Thanks!

Bengals vs. Jacksonville is a fantastic matchup ... but keep in mind that only gets you maybe 3-5 points over an absolute average matchup. There's no question that's your best option ... so now you have to put a value on that bench spot. If you think it'll get you that 3-5 points back this season (and you don't need to count on them next week), it's a better option.

I don't like the 49ers, Chargers, Redskins, or Cardinals D in week 9. I would not play a D against the Cowboys, as they are playing real strong. Vikings are starting to play better and Redskins suck. Dolphins are pretty good, they could beat Chargers, maybe. I don't trust the 49ers D even against the Rams, so many injuries for San Fran.
So in short, stick with Bengals D
