Im a firm believer that the veto should only be used if you believe there is collusion. I dont care about the value exchanged. If both teams entered the trade thinking they would make their team better, I dont believe the commissioner or other league members should question their judgment. As long as they can put forth a rationale for why they think it helps their team, even if you or your league mates disagree with their sense of value.

The guy getting Rodgers and Maclin is 5-2 in 2nd place. He won the league last season. Also made what I consider a suspect trade last season as well. It's not that I think there is collusion, it's that this is in a league where many are new to FF and make bad personnel decisions

The guy giving up Rodgers and Maclin is 1-6 and in last place. The reasoning he told me for doing the trade was "damned if I do, damned if I don't. I'm 1-6 and staying the current course means catastrophic failure continues. Something brash must be done"

I would allow it. You had the opportunity to negotiate a deal with this guy, you knew he was 1-6 and likely desperate for a change, yet you chose not to. I dont think you disallow this trade.

What I will say, is that if your league vetos by league vote, then I would reach out to him with a better deal. Basically, this puts you on notice that he is willing to take shitty deals to revamp his lineup. If you can give him a better deal than that one, I think you should have the right to make that proposal, and if the rest of the league also wants to throw in proposals, and veto the current deal under league vote, then im all for it

I agree with everyone else. Don't veto unless it's collusion. But, it might be difficult to tell if collusion is taking place. Ask the owners to provide rationales. You might also get input from other owners if anyone knows them personally. Like George said, this is a common kind of trade for someone getting ready for playoffs (seems a little early to me but oh well).

Hard to know without full rosters, but I'm with Aaron F. Unless there is collusion and you have reason to believe that one team is mailing it in and trying to set someone up as THE winner. Even if a person is making a foolish trade, as commish that doesn't bother me, if people are conspiring, you veto - otherwise you congratulate someone on making a huge trade.

I have to agree that without more information, I see no reason to veto this trade. The records of the teams are very relevant. I can't really see how any team in contention would need Fitzgerald, Decker, Morris and Williams. The trade "smells" like the guy getting Rodgers is throwing a bunch of bench guys at a guy with a very poor record to harvest two starters in Rodgers and Maclin. I guess I might veto it if it fits my scenario.

That sounds EXACTLY like collusion to me and I WOULD veto it.

What are the records of the 2 teams? Is this keeper or single year? Clearly the team getting Rodgers, Maclin and Bills D is setting up for playoffs. In two separate trades this probably goes through fine. As 1 it looks a bit fishy, like one team is checking out. I am very hesitant to veto trades, but I don't know all the details.
