Trying to trade for Julius Thomas. Need advice
Guy in my league had Spiller & Z. Stacy as his RB core with Ingram on BN. We all know how that went. Here is my roster, what should the trade package be to try and get JT? I was thinking Bennett and Martin.

QB: Stafford, Kaep
WR: D. Thomas, A. Johnson, OBJ, Benjamin, Edelman
RB: Forte, FJax, McKinnon, D. Martin, Tre Mason
TE: M. Bennett
K & DST: Vinatieri & Detroit

I'd offer him Bennett/Martin for sure. If he says no counter with Bennett/McKinnon. If he doesn't take that you're out of luck. Julius is a week winner and a guy you obviously want to add

If he'll take that, of course. But I can't imagine him taking anything less than McKinnon and not sure even that would be enough.

That is what I suspected. But at the same time, his run game is in desperation.

You're right about trying Martin first. It's always good to open negotiations low and see where he is at.

Especially considering you now have FJax sitting on the sidelines, you probably can't afford to trade RBs away right now. You may not be able to afford Thomas at all without really weakening your team elsewhere.

You can always offer, but I suspect you won't get very far. Maybe, MAYBE try offering a WR instead, or wait a week or two for Martin to have the type of production he SHOULD with his golden opportunity matchups and sell high.

Eh. Martin has lost his opportunity for me. I want JT as a by week avoidance and a hedge for DT.

Fair enough. Trust me, I'm the last guy that will advocate owning/using Martin. I had Bobby Rainey for a good part of this season. ;-) I'd want JT too, believe me, but as the others said, you might not be able to get there with who you currently have to offer and their production to this point. You MIGHT if Dougie has a good week or two here in the near future.

Agreed. Ill just toss the trade offer out there. If he says no, then so be it. When your entire ground game was decimated in 1 weekend, it makes ya think.

I would not give you Thomas for anything less than an RB1 or a WR1. I'm talking guys like Demarco Murray or Jordy Nelson. If I owned Julius Thomas I would not let him go for anything less that Matt Forte on your roster. You can't afford Julius unless you are playing with morons.
