Sounding off on the stupidest fantasy football strategy out there...
When you build your starting lineup each week, your strategy should be simple: start the players you think will score the most fantasy points that week. Period.

On SiriusXM Fantasy Sports radio, one of the Roto Experts revealed what he called one of his "strategies." A caller had Emmanuel Sanders and his opponent had Julius Thomas. The "expert" told the caller to sit Sanders because if he scores points, it is automatically points that the Thomas owner won't receive.

NO! You should start the player that you think will score the most points! The objective is to score more points than the other team. Plain and simple! Your only concern should be your own roster and maximizing the point potential.

"I'm thinking of benching Matt Stafford because my opponent has Calvin Johnson." NO! You drafted Stafford BECAUSE he has a weapon like Calvin Johnson. Your goal is to win in TOTAL!

I just needed to rant on this topic. It annoys me when people over-think the situation for no reason. Could the above strategies pay off? Sure, they occasionally will work out, just like any other strategy. But the objective is to win that week.

What are your thoughts? What counterproductive strategies have you seen?

I am NOT a mathematician, but aren't all points scored by anyone other than Julius Thomas, by definition not points received by Thomas?
