Questions
Is anyone passing on Brees, Rodgers or Manning in the late second or third rd?
If you are , please explain the reasons for doing so. I was fairly certain those three are no brainers at that point in the Draft, until I saw a respected writer say otherwise. Just looking for an explanation...

Probably, depending on what I was able to grab and what's available at that moment. There's enough decent QB options later in the draft and not enough decent RB/WRs.

    My thoughts exactly.

Yes because it is much easier to find a top 10 QB later in the draft than it is to find a top 24 RB or WR. Take the guys you know will likely produce at RB and WR early in the draft. I fill every RB/WR spot and grab 2 flex guys before I even consider drafting another position. So if these guys are there in the 7th then I will take them.

You aren't taking Brees or Rodgers until the 7th?

They're obviously not going to last that long. But no, I wouldn't. A guy like Rivers or Cutler have potential to be top 5 QBs themselves (and will certainly be top 10) and they can be had in the 10th. Like I said in another question, you can stack up on RBs and WRs and then later in the season when the guys that drafted Manning, Brees, or Rodgers and a TE early are hurting because they have no RB depth you trade your depth to upgrade your QB

An example of what I am talking about. In 2 of my leagues the Manning owners started off the season strong, as did most Manning owners. Right off the bat those owners were favorites to win it all. Now, they were playoff teams but both teams lost out in the first round? Why? They started off the season so strong. It's because their team lacked depth at other positions. When they had to take on injuries, as all owners do, they couldn't keep an elite team together because they were missing depth. So come round 6 I would rather take a Colston or Floyd. Not because they are better, but because the QB position is much easier to replace than a top notch RB or WR

yes. If one of the big WRs (Calvin, DT, Dez, AJ, Marshall, Julio) falls to me at 18, I'll pass on the QBs. I might even take Jordy over them. That being said, I'm not gambling on any of the hyped young RBs (Ellington, Ball, Bell) over one of the top 3 QBs.

In a 10 team standard, where are you taking Drew Brees?
