I feel terriable about drafting Ryan Mathews and Steven Jackson but that's how it turned out unfortunately.
Should I be concerned that Le'Veon Bell won't live up to his draft position with the issue of legarette Blount being in the mix in Pitt?
BONUS: Also do you think I would be able to trade say Ryan Mathews and a guy like Ruben Randal for Andre Ellington?
Be careful, You may be giving up more talent then you receive. Public perception may be wrong. You should be able to get that deal if you can make the trade early.
I wouldn't feel terrible about drafting those two. You may have gone a little high on Mathews, but ultimately who knows. He outperformed a 4th round pick last year, and while it seems unlikely he could do so again in a new system with more guys competing for touches, I don't think you're in for a repeat of '12. Steven Jackson is even less of a player to feel terrible about drafting...6th round is actually quite good value for a starting RB in the NFL, especially in a 12 team league. He hasn't gotten hurt, and he hasn't been replaced by anyone else on the team...so for now, ride him until something happens. Ultimately, those guys are your backups, which is a very solid position to be in at RB. I think Le'Veon Bell will be just fine - certainly not a risk to lose legitimate work to Blount. We'll see Blount used, but more likely as relief than splitting carries.
I'd really be more focused on your lack of WR depth. Roddy as a #1 and Terrance Williams/Randle/Cooper as a #2 is not so great...not like those guys won't be good, but I'd rather be in a position where I have at least one Elite anchor at the position. But, granted, WR is a position that is tough to predict, and ultimately it may not end up hurting you. If I were to be looking at making any kind of trade, it'd be to move some of your RB depth and turn it in to a legit #1 guy.
