How about neither? If you are in this kind of QB territory then you should probably have both of them on your team and pick the best matchup. Palmer clearly has the better WR core but will also play SEA, SF, and STL twice which are arguably the top 5 defenses and tough passing matchups. I watched Palmer a fair amount last year and his arm just doesn't seem to be there, Chad Pennington-esque. Certain things come into play like how many points for a passing TD and do you get negatives for interceptions. Keep in mind that Alex Smith will likely get you 30+ rushing yards a game and .5 interceptions less than Palmer a game. If its minus 2 for INT's that's a four point swing right there. In the end I don't trust either of them but if you are messing with them then at that point I would be streaming my QB all year.

Great call about the NFC West matchups. But Palmer did play well in the 2nd half of the season. With Fitz, Floyd & Ellington he could put up some very livable numbers for a team that needed a late rounder.

Palmer. Smith is average IMO and his oline isn't what it was last year. I don't think KC will have the same offensive success as last year, whereas Palmer has an improved oline, the reliable vet in Fitz and the up and comer in Floyd. He'll throw a good amount of INTs because that's the way he is, but he'll still put up a lot of yards and TDs to go along with it

Palmer has weapons and Smith not so much, well besides Charles

I like Palmer. Better weapons around him, and has more upside. Smith is consistently average, won't kill you, but won't explode either. With a back-up QB (I'm assuming that's what you're looking for with them), I prefer upside.

Carson...I think. For some reason I feel like dude is still going to be good for 20+ interceptions, which always sucks...but it's hard to argue that he isn't surrounded by a handful of really good weapons in Fitz, Floyd, and Ellington. It's a better system than KC too, in my opinion.
