How does NumberFire compare to FantasyPros
Up until I found out about NumberFire, I was all over FantasyPros and their rankings. Their rankings seem pretty reliable given that they were consensus rankings.

However, I can't bypass the huge difference in rankings when comparing NumberFire and FantasyPros. (My previous post talked about Megatron and for example, in NF he is #13 and FP he is #5) I know that they run on different styles of ranking and different calculations.

So my question is, which is more reliable?

Does anyone have any past experiences in drafts using one or both systems?

In the past three years since 2011 - 2013, numberFire has been the 13th best projections at 60.6%. That is pretty damn impressive. Anything over 60% is top notch.

Yes, FantasyPros does have consensus rankings of so called "experts", but really they are just combining the opinions of people like you and me. Experts decide who is better than who the same way we all do: by watching the games, looking at the numbers at a surface level, and reading reports on players. They just spend a lot more time than the normal person because its their job. There are no formulas or calculations in how they rank their players. Its all based on their subjective views of the players and how they will perform. The only calculation that FantasyPros does is averaging out rankings of all those experts and their opinions on who ranks where. Ever since I've started using numberFire the results have been great. They use very deep mathematical and statistical calculations and analysis that factor in a lot of things that others won't. You know what they say, numbers never lie. Besides their amazing draft kit cheat sheet, you should also read their articles and their deep insight into the numbers. Of course, its never gonna be perfect, but it will definitely give you an edge over your opponents and give you a better chance to win your league. So yes, numberFire is the way to go.

I was using Fantasy Pros two years ago before I switched to numberFire.. Best decision ever. I went from the league laughingstock to one of the top competitors. I will never go back to Fantasy Pros. Here's my favorite thing about numberFire: there is no bias in the calculations. Plus, all the articles are backed up with math rather than speculation.

Derek, thats what has me hooked on numberfire. I will take math all day long. Its a numbers game. There is no shortage of solid opinions, but stats can be twisted to fit any agenda you have, so I like to base my rankings on math as much as possible

I have no experience with FantasyPros, but it seems to be ranked similarly to ESPN. NF and Espn are quite different in their rankings also. I would say look at the math given by JJ and it tells a pretty convincing story in my opinion. I have always valued runningbacks higher but seeing the numbers really made it click for me. There is a four part piece on the value of running backs. I recommend reading through all of them and making a decision for yourself. Here is one of them.

Doesn't seem like FantasyPros rankings are very dynamic. Seems like developments in recent weeks aren't factored in.
