RBs or WRs in first two rounds of a ten man league
Do you think Andre Ellington and Chris Johnson could be a solid RB1&2 if I take dominant WRs in the first two rounds? Such as Megatron and one of the three other top tier receivers (Thomas/Bryant/Green).

    If you're going to grab 2 stud WR's in the first 2 rounds, make sure to get 4 or 5 RB's on your roster by the end of the draft. Other late guys to shoot for: Spiller (massive upside), Gerhart, Richardson (was top 10 two years ago, can he do it again?), Steven Jackson, MJD, Pierre Thomas, Shane Vereen. If one of those RB's catches fire you should be fine

    I think Stevan Ridley is another guy that could easily outperform his draft position. But yeah I'd be looking to grab several RBs.

    I got Chris Johnson, Andre Ellington, Shane Vereen, Bishop Sankey, and Khiry Robinson after taking Megaton and D. Thomas my first two rounds...you think that's alright?

    Someone wrote an article in the past year about how it's a myth that the RB fantasy drop off after the first 2 rounds is more significant than that for WRs. It was pretty convincing, wish I remembered where I read it.

    I think it's more important to have your board and stick to it then have a preconceived notion about what position you'll draft in each round.

    Agreed a million times over. You CANNOT go into a draft thinking I have to go RB-RB or RB-WR or WR-WR. You take what the draft gives you. I've seen so many guys screw up a draft because they've gone in with a set plan that they do not deviate from. I'm normally a RB 1st guy, but I've won my league going WR-WR-WR because that's how the draft fell.

    My 2 leagues I have drafted so far I went TE/WR/WR/WR in one taking 3 RB in the next 5 rounds ending up with a total of 5 on my team we start 2 RB 2WR and FLex.

    My 2nd league I took WR/WR/WR/QB, but took 4 straight RB after that again ending up with 5 on my roster. Both leagues are NONPPR leagues and I had 8th pick in both. I look at both leagues like this team 1 my 2WR/TE/Flex spots are set in stone with studs and I won't have to even look at them until bye weeks or and injury occurs. Team 2 my 2WR/Flex spots are set with studs so until bye week or injury I don't have to pay attention to those. My RB on both teams aren't great but are decent and they could become plug and play, but I am ok with that because I have enough depth to handle that, so I agree with you wait til at least round 3 to take a RB you gotta load up.

    But if you have a top 5 pick you definitely go RB first then just see who falls to you 2nd but I would prob go RB/WR/RB in top 5

    Truly elite running backs are the most important pieces in fantasy football. I have ran through 15-20 mock drafts, and the teams that I feel most satisfied are the teams where i took runningbacks in the 1st and 2nd rounds. I understand going RB 1st, WR 2nd, but I strongly advise against going WR WR. At least get your one RB stud in round one. WR's just aren't as valuable.

    Yeah I'm okay with if it if you have a top 6 pick so that you can get Johnson.

    in the ten team league i am in, i was able to grab AP and demarco murray with my first two picks. then ran three straight wrs with brandon marshall, vjax, and victor cruz. you could probably do something similar. rbs are at a premium this year, WR has very very deep depth.

    no grab a top RB then look at WR or another RB
