Questions
Trade Sankey for Foles?
Current QB is Kaep, Sankey is 4th choice RB (behind Forte, Murray and Gio).

Not sold on Kaep, (no-one is really, he was 15th QB off the board) so would like to upgrade. Foles was taken as a backup to Peyton, so should be available to trade.

Would this be good value for Sankey? Or am I better off holding him for now and trading later for a different QB / WR (current WRs are VJax, DJax, Torrey & Maclin)? Alternatively is this valuation of Sankey too high?

    I wouldn't, because:

    1. Kaepernick is undervalued imo. He has Crabtree for a full season, plus Stevie Johnson in addition to weapons he's familiar with. If Gore breaks down he might conceivably end up throwing a bit more than usual, esp since Hyde is good with passing downs.

    2. Foles is not going to touch his 2013 numbers, not without DJax creating space for his favorite targerts. Still an excellent QB but not one I would offload for a potential breakout RB.

Would it change your opinion if I could get then trade Foles for Cam Newton (definitely, probably with a slight upgrade elsewhere - owner is an Eagles fan) or RG3? Basically my thinking is that I could get more points by trading than having Sankey on my bench.

In saying that though, I generally agree with what you said.

Depends on the upgrade. I like RG3 a lot as a QB5 or better, and Cam is always good in fantasy but has no one to throw to as of now.

I agree with this assessment. I think the jump from Kaep to Foles is not so great as to be worth Sankey, and with your 4 backs one of them will be worth something as the season progresses and backs on other teams start to break down.

I am assuming this is re-draft. If so, I wouldn't be so quick to trade a guy I took pretty early for a guy taken after him (I assume that's the case with Foles and Sankey).

I don't love Sankey, but I don't think Foles is such a can't miss guy to give up that valuable of an asset for. Hold onto him for now, and if he starts off hot, try to flip him for a top-3 QB if you're not sold on Kaep. Otherwise, ride it out with Kaep and stream quarterbacks if you need to, and keep your depth at running back.

Yeah this is a re-draft league. The guy with Foles got drunk and got conned into taking Peyton in the first round and then took Foles hoping to trade later. Pretty much the same thing I did with Sankey, although I think I got better value with Sankey

To me Foles and RG3> Newton, so the extra player the Eagles fan throws in will make a lot of difference.

I would maybe trade for Jay Cutler or Tony Romo if that team has a better qb. Then, maybe upgrade your te position if you don't have much depth. I feel that your trade may favor the other team.

Cutler would cost too much, Romo owner has a pretty well rounded team too so may not particularly want to trade. I have Jordan Cameron at TE - don't think I would get value upgrading to Jimmy, Julius or Gronk.

Gotcha. Well, honestly you have a pretty sweet team. Maybe you shouldn't trade at all. Maybe hold on to Sankey and pick an undrafted qb and release someone who doesn't produce, gets injured, etc... Palmer's supposed to be a deep sleeper this year.

Yeah. I have a bunch of backup RBs (Hill, Pierce, Donald Brown, Devonta Freeman, Jonathan Stewart), so I was gonna see how trading camp goes and try to use them to trade. If that doesn't work just drop the worst couple. Everyone in my league has a backup already, and Big Ben is still available, so hopefully I will be able to grab him later

Freeman and Pierce won't be backups for much longer.

Yeah hopefully. I'm hoping Rice gets a huge suspension. Would benefit me greatly

Even if Rice isn't suspended for a huge amount of time, he will struggle with the younger Pierce siphoning carries and Forsett playing scatback. In a few months time he won't be our starting RB.

You'd be better off grabbing Roethlisberger off waivers and keeping Sankey.
