Early draft help
My league draft is locked in for next Sunday, the only time we are all going to be available. I am going to be pick 6, so I was hoping to get a bit of help with my strategy for the first couple of rounds. In my opinion the top 6 players are:

1-3: Charles, McCoy & AP (pretty close, definitely first 3 picks)
4-6: Forte, Marshawn, Lacy

Does that sound about right? Should I be considering someone else at pick 6 (seems like a big drop to the next tier of RBs though)

With pick 15, should I grab the best available RB (Ball, Foster, Martin, Stacy), the best WR available (Demaryius, Dez, Marshall), or just take Jimmy Graham and know he is the best player in his position?

I absolutely agree with your top three and for me Forte is not that far behind, so obviously take one of those if somehow they drop to 6th. After that, I'd probably go Marshawn or Megatron, but I wouldn't go that high on Lacy (Doug Martin taught me a lesson about trusting 2nd year RB's last year). In the second, still pick best available as there's nothing wrong with going RB\RB or WR\WR if that's how it plays out. I know I'm not picking Jimmy Graham this high, but I'm sure he'll be gone by now in lots of leagues, so go for it if you don't trust any of the RB's or WR's left at pick 15.

Yeah. I am really hoping Forte slips through - hoping one of the top 4 takes Marshawn and Eddie Lacy became RB1 for the guy drafting 5th so hoping he takes him. As for the second pick, I agree with you about Jimmy Graham - just very underwhelmed by the RB options and confident of the depth at WR. Who would you take from Ball, Foster, Martin, Stacy, Demaryius, Dez and Marshall?

I think I would probably grab Demaryius is he was there, then I would probably look at the RBs (no idea how to split these guys though). Not huge on Dez, I think I would get better value from Terrance Williams later. Don't really know what to think of Marshall either

I think I like Demaryius and Dez best from this group, so would probably rank them Demaryius > Dez > Stacy > Ball > Foster > Marshall > Martin (still don't trust that Tampa offense).

    Thanks mate - very helpful

I think Lacy will be WAY overdrafted as a first round pick.

I would be thrilled to go with Megatron at the 6 spot. If Demaryius, Dez, Julio, or AJ made it back to me at 15 I would take one of them. Otherwise I would take the best available RB. Out of the guys who might be there I would rank them: Murray, Martin, Bell, Lacy, Ball, Foster, Stacy, Morris

Those top 6 RBs are right on the money. Unless PPR, the drop after is too large to take a WR or J Graham. Now in the 2nd round it really depends on your feel of the talent pool. Personally, I would go WR or J Graham there and try to hit on a few RB later on and in the free agency throughout the season. RB's are by far the easiest week to week positional players to find on the wire as the season progesses. It is very unlikely, on any given week, to find a stud WR or QB available.
