2-5 Team Needing Advice
I'm in a 12 team league and I'm sitting at 2-5 after losing Doug Martin, Reggie Wayne, and Randall Cobb to injury and missing on Jared Cook after giving him 7 weeks of chances. I'm 4th in points scored but have the most points scored against me BY FAR. I want to shake things up.

This is my roster:

Tony Romo

Matt Forte
Stevan Ridley
Gio Bernard
Ben Tate
Willis McGahee
Daniel Thomas

Vincent Jackson
Jarrett Boykin
Jeremy Kerley
Kenbrell Thompkins

Jordan Reed
Rob Housler

Any advice on what to improve on or players to target would be greatly appreciated. AP's owner is shopping him around so advice on what to offer for AP would be a great start.

Thanks for the help guys!

You're fairly weak at WR. I'm guessing AP's owner needs WRs but you can't afford to be giving away VJax or Thompkins without getting a replacement for them. RB is not your weakness at all with Forte and Bernard + Ridley as Flex. If I were you, I'd be checking for teams with top level WRs who needs an RB. Ridley, Thompkins, and Bernard are your bargaining chips.

I agree with everything you said except for not being able to give away Thompkins. With Brady have Gronk back I'm expecting most passes to go to him and Edelman for the rest of the season

First off, very surprised you were able to draft D. Martin, Forte, Ridley, V-Jax, Wayne, and Cobb in a 12-person league. All of them went before midway of round 4 in my 12-man league. But anyway, other than just having bad luck, the only thing I think you did wrong was give Jared Cook WAY too many chances. After injuries, you've really lost any type of trade value that doesn't just cripple you in any one position. I think you've got some really good potential waiver pickups in Boykin and Reed, though. If this was my team, one plan of action I would have is to hope Ridley gets 1 or 2 more stellar games and then trade high on that ticking time bomb. One more fumble and he won't be allowed out of the locker room once Vereen comes back.

I don't think you have the depth to go after AP.

First off, good pickup with Jordan Reed.
He is MUCH better than Rob Housler and should help you out a lot.

If, I were you I'd trade Forte.
Don't get me wrong, Forte is a beast and I'm sure you've been loving him.
But you just need the depth and I think he can provide that for you.

If you do decide to trade him, try to get a RB2 with RB1 upside like Knowshon or Lacy tagged along with a good WR.

For starters, I wouldn't necessarily panic just yet. You can't really control the points against, sp if anything that should give you a bit of confidence. I don't really think you're deep enough after all those injuries to afford going after AP. You'd likely have to give up VJax to do it, and you can't really swing that right now.

My suggestion would be to start small with some trades for a solid RB2 and WR2. You may have to think more long-term, as in "this guy's value is really low right now relative to his second half potential." You probably need a solid WR2 more than anything, so maybe see if guys like Keenen Allen, Denarius Moore, Justin Blackmon, or even Percy Harvin (since it sounds like he'll be returning in 2 weeks at most. Zac Stacy and Le'Veon Bell are also running backs that you may be able to acquire on the cheap.

Take a look around your league and see where your opponents weaknesses are and also the positions at which they are deeper. Make your offers based on that criteria and you may be able to get some good bang for your buck.
