Watch game 1, Ravens won 35-7. Ravens will play very well, 12-4 or even a 13-3 season. Here's why: 1) Raven's pass-rushing defense. I think the Ravens defense is much improved with Chuck Pagano putting pressure and letting Suggs, Ngata and the rest of the defense loose on the quarterback, unlike last year when they played conservative and rushed 3 and let Roethlisberger and others pick them apart. 2) Secondary has improved. First round pick Jimmy Smith is a potential shut-down corner. Cary Williams also can cover well and defend passes. Newly acquired Bernard Pollard can also apply some pressure.3) Revamped offensive line. Bryant McKinnie will prove to be a huge addition for the run game. Vonta Leach has already opened up holes and he loves to block. They will open up holes for Ray Rice, who had over 150 yards total from scrimmage against a very good Steelers defense in week 1. 4) Faster at Receiver. Lee Evans, although he didn't catch a pass, opened up Anquan Boldin underneath, as well as the new pass-catching TEs, Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta. Lee Evans will get his yards and TDs soon as well. All this adds up to a whole new 2011 Ravens. They are not a 10-6 wildcard team anymore. They are a "sleeper" favorite to win it this year.
