Detroit Lions

Who is a better draft pick: Shaun Hill or Matt Hasselbeck?
Asked in: Shaun Hill, Matt Hasselbeck, Quarterbacks, Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans

0Bob Reed
Hasselbeck, only cause he's starting, neither are viable draft picks.

Who is a more exciting player: Kellen Winslow Jr. or Brandon Pettigrew?
Asked in: Brandon Pettigrew, Tight Ends, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Detroit Lions

0Aaron Rodriguez
I would say Pettigrew. While Winslow might be the "safer" bet, I like Pettigrew's upside a lot more. As long as Stafford stays healthy, Pettigrew will be a RZ threat all year, while Winslow continues to be a constant injury concern week to week, and Freeman is only getting more accustomed to throwing the ball to his WRs, rather than TEs.

Who is a more exciting player: Chris Cooley or Brandon Pettigrew?
Asked in: Chris Cooley, Brandon Pettigrew, Tight Ends, Washington Redskins, Detroit Lions

0Tom Becker
Pettigrew, Stafford loves to throw to him and Cooley doesn't have a QB.

Who is a more exciting player: Tony Gonzalez or Brandon Pettigrew?
Asked in: Tony Gonzalez, Brandon Pettigrew, Tight Ends, Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions

0Tom Becker
Right now, I would say Pettigrew. Stafford loves him as a receiver in Detroit and Gonzo is on the way down, mostly used for his blocking ability now.

Who is a more exciting player: Brandon Jacobs or Jahvid Best?
Asked in: Brandon Jacobs, Jahvid Best, Running Backs, New York Giants, Detroit Lions

2Christopher M Davis
I laughed out loud at this. Jahvid Best is far more dynamic on the field. When I think of the two I think "how many times can you watch stock footage of a freight train running over stalled compact cars?" For me at least, the answer is Jahvid Best. The guys got crazy potential if he can stay healthy and watching him walk that line and beat guys in the open field with his box of tricks and power, knowing the next hit he takes might end his career with a concussion... pretty awesome. Tired of watching Jacobs steam roll defensive backs and throw tantrums.

Who is a more exciting player: Jahvid Best or LeGarrette Blount?
Asked in: Jahvid Best, LeGarrette Blount, Running Backs, Detroit Lions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

0Christopher M Davis
Blount! Hurdling for the win. Every time. Nothing like watching a guy wither in front of Blount and go for the legs only to have Blount literally run over the would be tackler. The Bucs are worth watching for Josh Freeman, but reason number 1.2 is Blount's ridiculous athleticism. Not the fastest dude on the field, but when you can levitate, you don't have to be.

Who is a more exciting player: Jahvid Best or Thomas Jones?
Asked in: Jahvid Best, Thomas Jones, Running Backs, Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs

0Johnny Hewitt
Jahvid Best with the injury to LeShoure. TJ will take a backseat to Jamaal.

Who is a more exciting player: Jahvid Best or Felix Jones?
Asked in: Jahvid Best, Felix Jones, Running Backs, Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys

0Tom Becker
I think these guys are pretty comparable, but I'd have to go with Felix Jones. Best hasn't shown that he can carry a huge load.

Who is a more exciting player: Jahvid Best or Michael Bush?
Asked in: Jahvid Best, Michael Bush, Running Backs, Detroit Lions, Oakland Raiders

3Keith Goldner
Jahvid Best, especially with the LeShoure injury. Bush won't do anything until Run DMC goes down with an injury.

Who is a more exciting player: Austin Collie or Nate Burleson?
Asked in: Austin Collie, Nate Burleson, Wide Receivers, Indianapolis Colts, Detroit Lions

0Aaron Jackson
Collie if he's healthy. Burleson never really lived up to the hype.

Who is a more exciting player: Nate Burleson or James Jones?
Asked in: Nate Burleson, James Jones, Wide Receivers, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers

1Jim R
I like James Jones here! He has the best quarterback in the league throwing him the ball!

With LeShoure out for the year is the any chance Jahvid Best has a big year?
Asked in: Jahvid Best, Running Backs, Detroit Lions

1John Miller
Of course there is a chance. Best will have every opportunity to succeed and could average at least 20 touches a game. Assuming, you know, that Best stays healthy. But that's always been the rub on Best, from college through the 2nd preseason game in 2011. Best is an excellent receiver out of the backfield and he's a threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. Subtracting Mikel LeShoure from the Lions backfield might give Best a few more goal line touches, but it will also increase Best's workload, for better or worse. The Lions drafted LeShoure because they felt that Best would be most successfully utilized by limiting his touches to a certain extent. Odds are that Best is a very effective player when on the field, but he misses a few games. He might be an excellent "per-week average" player, but his chances of having a "big year" as far as overall totals go are limited. He's already been dinged up in the preseason and it's highly unlikely that Best can stay healthy enough to have that "big season".

Lions and Texans in the playoffs this year?
Asked in: Detroit Lions, Detroit D/ST, Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson, Houston Texans, Houston D/ST, Matt Schaub, Arian Foster, Andre Johnson

1Ben Johnston
I think the Lions will just miss a playoff spot, finishing behind GB in their division and Dallas and New Orleans for a Wild Card spot. I have a feeling the Texans, on the other hand, will win their division this year and make the playoffs.

If Stafford played 16 games, is he a top 10/top 5 qb?
Asked in: Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions, Detroit D/ST

2Keith Goldner
Maybe top 10, definitely not top 5. I think he'd fall between 10-15 after the Schaub/Ryan/Big Ben crew.

Flex (non-PPR) starter for week 1: Reggie Bush or Jahvid Best?
Asked in: Reggie Bush, Jahvid Best, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions

2Tom Maloney
Best is a better bet this week, and probably every week. Bush hasn't shown the ability to be the feature back and Miami's offense isn't scaring anyone, least of all the NE defense. Roll with Best this week.

Who to start in the flex spot, Matt Forte (vs. ATL) or LeGarrette Blount (vs. DET)?
Asked in: Matt Forte, LeGarrette Blount, Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Detroit Lions

1Bo Busch
I would roll with Forte this week. He is going to get the carries and the looks through the passing game. I think they will be down so Forte is in for a solid week 1.

Matt Stafford or Sam Bradford?
Asked in: Sam Bradford, Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions, St. Louis Rams

0PEJ
Hmmm. I think Bradford this week. They're going to have to put up a ton of points to compete with the Eagles.

Is Matthew Stafford now a top 10 QB?
Asked in: Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions, Quarterbacks

0David Romero
I think so, only because no Peyton Manning in that top 10, and only if Calvin Johnson and Stafford stay healthy. Great Duo !!

Scott Chandler or Brandon Pettigrew
Asked in: Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, Brandon Pettigrew

1Keith Goldner
I think I'd go with Chandler right now, Fitz loves him in the red zone.

Are the Detroit Lions for real?
Asked in: Detroit Lions, Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson, Jahvid Best

1Frank Lenz
I think so. They won't beat the Packers but they could make a wild card run.

Which RB should I play? I can choose between AP, Matt Forte, and Jahvid Best
Asked in: Adrian Peterson, Matt Forte, Jahvid Best, Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears

2Matt Gregg
AP DOMINATES the Lions, traditionally. Forte is running against a Green Bay team that is second worst in the NFL against RBs--not to mention that he accounted for more than half of the Bears offense last week. Though MIN has not been great against the run the past 2 weeks, I would put Best in the third spot behind AP and Forte.

Anyone know of a website that has a forcast for all the NFL games?
Asked in: Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills

2Walt Dittrich
Forecast, as in WEATHER forecast? You can't beat: http://www.nflweather.com/If it's predictions on wins/losses, then there are many. I've been following the AP's Dave Goldberg for several years. He appears now on AOL News: http://www.aolnews.com/2010/09/23/nfl-picks-week-3-cowboys-texans-going-in-opposite-directions/

Should I start Jahvid Best or Isaac Redman?
Asked in: Jahvid Best, Isaac Redman, Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers, Running Backs

1nicholas cole
Jahvid because he will end up getting thrown to not a lot of running yards though

Who to start in a standard league - Jahvid Best or Earnest Graham?
Asked in: Jahvid Best, Earnest Graham, Running Backs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Detroit Lions

3Anthony Best
Earnest Graham vs. NO!! SF is best against RB's so far.. And they have the speed to cover Best in the flats as well.

Should I play Victor Cruz or Jahvid Best at the flex position?
Asked in: Jahvid Best, Detroit Lions, New York Giants

1Sean Weinstock
I generally go with running backs over receivers in flex spots, but I can see the concern with the Niners run defense. I still think Best over Cruz (Cruz had a really lucky week last week).

Who's picking up Maurice Morris? What do you think the short/long term payoff could be with Best's history of concussions?
Asked in: Maurice Morris, Detroit Lions, Running Backs, Jahvid Best

0Matt Leighton
He's definitely worth a pickup. Some reports say Best is considering ending his season to avoid any more chances of a concussion, other sources say he's probable for this Sunday. Either way, Morris is without a doubt worth a bench slot the rest of your season. (In deep leagues Keiland Williams is worth a look as well).

Will the Detroit Lions get a playoff birth?
Asked in: Detroit Lions

0Anthony Best
hard to say, but They do have a favorable schedule if their offense can get it together.
