I like McFadden because it's pretty obvious that the Raiders are making commitment to both him and the run game as a whole. Looking at last season's game log, it's pretty clear that DMC was an 18-20 carry/game type of player, plus receptions, whereas McCoy is more of a 12-15 carry/game type of player. This is not a negligible difference, as I believe a healthy DMC will get 50 more carries (not touches) over the course of an entire season (say maybe 225 for LeSean, 275 for McFadden). Plus, it also bothers me about McCoy that so much of his production came via dumpoffs, which is nice, but is not something that is a good bet to be repeated.

I would say Turner, just because of his track record. Run DMC has huge upside but he is not as proven. You know what you're getting with Turner.

If it's me, I think I'd rather have Mendenhall. I don't love him, but I don't like the situation in Oakland at all. Bad QB, no receivers, and Michael Bush taking some carries.

Absolutely not, I doubt he even plays. The kid has raw athletic talent, but he won't make any difference in the NFL for awhile.

I pick McFadden to have a better start...I think people are underestimating just how good the OAK offense will be with Jacoby Ford and Denarius Moore. Plus, Hue Jackson had reportedly asked McFadden last spring to tell him what plays he felt most comfortable running and incorporated his ideas into this year's gameplan...something that didn't happen last year, when the gameplan revolved around Jason Campbell, DHB and Zach Miller. That being said, Mendenhall's schedule is a lot more favorable than it was last year, and the Steelers have a good shot at being the top-scoring offense at least during the first half of the season.

Hmm, that's an interesting question, Tim. I would say that yeah, generally speaking, we think he's more likely not to score than score. One of the things that I find weird about ESPN and Yahoo! is that they tend to think in terms of full value (either 1 TD or 0 TD), which can lead to fairly misleading projections.

I'm starting to have a lot more faith in Buffalo and Fred Jackson. I love McFadden though. Not sure if I want a Cinci or Denver receiver. Who's your QB otherwise?

Without knowing anything about your team or your scoring, I would definitely make this trade. McFadden is arguably one of the top 5 players to have overall right now, while Schaub is not. In addition, the difference between a top tier running back and a second tier is greater than it is with QBs.

I wouldn't do it. You can generally pick up serviceable QB fill-ins, but you won't find anything close to McFadden.

It's tough to justify getting rid of your best player but this is a pretty good deal. Both Smith and Best have risk but there's probably enough upside to justify this trade.
