You know, I only have him as my fourth or fifth best guy this year. His team is going to stink out loud and I just don't think he's going to perform like a top pick should.

Definitely not. He is an elite talent at the RB position and the best pure rusher in the game right now. The combination of health, speed, power, breakaway speed, vision, ability to break tackles, everything. He is also getting better in the passing game, which he showed last year. I'm not sure about him in blitz pickup, as he hasn't done much of that in his career as far as I know. But as a rusher, he's definitely not overrated.

As a running back he is definitely not overrated, as he truly is the best running back in the game As good as Jamaal Charles and Chris Johnson have been, they just don't have his ability. With that said, as a fantasy option he's a bit overrated playing behind one of the worst offensive lines in the league with a quarterback who isn't going to scare opposing defenses. He should still find a way to finish in the top 5 RB's as his talent is just that great, but I don't see him as the top 2 pick he's being drafted as.

No. He will be the focal point of the Viking's offense and get all the goal line looks... I think if they get average or better QB play he will have a great year.

I think Minnesota is over-rated as a team.

Losing Favre and Sidney Rice (basically their passing attack) devalues AP. He's an amazing athlete and top 3 RB in the league but their lack of a passing game will allow opponents to stack 8 the box.

No he is not. He is the best running back in the NFL. Does that mean he has the most favorable situation of all the running backs in the NFL? Absolutely not. But when considering his value you must think about it this way, there isn't a guy in the league he can average 100 yards and a TD more games in a season than him at the RB position I don't care if they have a decent passing attack or not. Don Nabby threw FOR 39 YARDS against a secondary outside the top 10 and Adrian Peterson was 3 yards shy of triple digits and 1 TD shy of a great fantasy day. Don't be butt-hurt you couldn't draft him ;)

Nope... Peterson is solid as a rock. You may not get a huge weekly spike in points but you will get good points each week.

I can't say that he's overrated when he still can put up numbers on a crappy team.. they would actually have a few wins by now if they hadn't stopped running the ball in every 2nd half of the 1st 3 games

I don't think you can say ADP is overratted when he is so consistent. Sure, he probably won't finish as the #1 RB or certainly not #1 overall, but even with how sorry the Vikes have been, you can count on him in a lineup. So, as a fantasy player, I'd say Peterson is well worth his rankings.
