Islanders win marathon shootout with Ducks on Nick Leddy's goal in the 14th
New York Islanders defenseman Nick Leddy was the 14th gunner in a 3-2 shootout overtime win Tuesday night as the Islanders defeated the Anaheim Ducks.
What It Means:
It was the longest shootout in the NHL this season, with nine goals being scored. Leddy had an assist in the first period as well.
Leddy has three goals and eight points in 17 games played this season. His possession numbers haven't been great, evidenced by a career-low 43.9 Corsi For Percentage and -2.3 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength, which is his lowest since his rookie year (-5.3 percent).
