Shane Prince to play on top line in debut with Islanders

New York Islanders winger Shane Prince will make his Islanders debut Tuesday night against the Vancouver Canucks, playing on the top line.

What It Means:

Prince will play with John Tavares and Ryan Strome following his acquisition on Monday from the Ottawa Senators. He has recorded 12 points (three goals, nine assists) in 42 games this season, but he is being given a big opportunity right off the bat with his new squad.

Prince will be getting a major increase in minutes with New York as his average time on ice with Ottawa was just 10:38. He has been decent at driving possession this season, posting a Corsi For Percentage of 53.0 and a Relative Corsi For at Even Strength of 1.9. We currently project him to tally just five more points (one goal, four assists) over the remaining course of the season, but if he stays on the top line, this total will likely increase.
