Jets' Jermaine Kearse (abdomen) reportedly expected to miss Week 1
New York Jets wide receiver Jermaine Kearse is expected to miss Week 1 versus the Detroit Lions after requiring surgery on his abdominal injury, reports Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.
Kearse sat out the Jets' final two preseason games, and while Jets head coach Todd Bowles said the receiver is "getting better every day," it's not clear how much more time he could miss. “Day-to-day, week-to-week,” Bowles said, refusing to count Kearse out for next Monday's opener. If he's unavailable, Terrelle Pryor could step into three-wide sets next to Robby Anderson and Quincy Enunwa.
numberFire's models project Kearse for 530.5 receiving yards and 2.14 touchdowns on 42.3 catches (70.6 targets) this season, keeping him just inside the top-80 receivers in our preseason fantasy rankings.
