Jets' Thomas Rawls dealing with soreness

New York Jets running back Thomas Rawls has been sidelined with "soreness" at training camp.

What It Means:

Head coach Todd Bowles doesn't expect him to miss much time, but Rawls has been out since Thursday. Once a long shot to make the Jets' roster, an injury to Elijah McGuire has given Rawls' roster spot a new lease on life. Brian Costello of the New York Post noted that ball security has been an issue for Rawls throughout training camp, but if he can clean that up he has a strong chance to be the primary backup to Isaiah Crowell.

Our models project Rawls currently as the Jets' fourth-best running back for fantasy, and barely in the top-100 backs league-wide. We peg him for 67 rushing yards and 0.6 touchdowns on 23 carries, with 10 catches for 79 yards and 0.3 scores.
