Mark Ingram not expected to join Saints until veteran minicamp
New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton said running back Mark Ingram is not expected to join the team until mandatory minicamp.
Ingram was suspended four games for violating the league's policy against performance-enhancing drugs. His appeal was already denied, but Ingram is still making news. He's stated his desire for a bigger contract and will be away from the team even though he is eligible to participate in the offseason program. We should see a lot of Alvin Kamara and more Trey Edmunds to start off the 2018 season.
In 2017, Ingram turned 286 touches into 1,540 total yards and 12 (all rushing) touchdowns. He's set to make over $6.2 million this coming season.
