Saints release tight end bust Coby Fleener on Monday
The New Orleans Saints have released tight end Coby Fleener on Monday.
Fleener completed just two years of his five-year deal after failing to reach the massive expectations placed on him when he signed for $36 million in 2016. The Saints will move forward with Benjamin Watson as their primary tight end for the 2018 season. Fleener may have a hard time catching on with a new team after his unproductive stint in New Orleans and his history with concussions.
Fleener caught just 22 passes for 295 yards and 2 touchdowns in 11 games as he fought injuries in the 2017 season.
