Dolphins claim Bryce Petty off waivers from the Jets
The Miami Dolphins have claimed former New York Jets quarterback Bryce Petty off of waivers on Friday.
Petty was cut by the Jets earlier this week as he was the odd man out after the drafting of Sam Darnold. He will now compete with Brock Osweiler and David Fales for the backup quarterback spot behind Ryan Tannehill in Miami.
Petty started three games for the Jets in 2017 completing just 55 of his 112 pass attempts (49.1%) for 544 yards, 21 touchdown, and 3 interceptions.
