Robert Griffin returning to NFL on 1-year deal with Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens signed quarterback Robert Griffin III, previously of the Cleveland Browns, to a 1-year contract.
After an injury-plagued and underwhelming campaign with the Browns in 2016, Griffin spent all of last season out of the league. He currently projects to be second on the depth chart behind Joe Flacco, but this is unlikely to deter the Ravens from spending a high draft pick on a quarterback if they intend on doing so.
Griffin completed 87-of-147 passes (career-low 59.2 percent) for 886 yards with 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in five starts for the Browns in 2016. He also rushed 31 times for 390 yards and 2 scores.
