Martellus Bennett announces his retirement from the NFL
Former New England Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett announced his retirement from the NFL on Twitter on Friday.
What It Means:
The 10-year veteran was released by the Pats earlier this offseason after suiting up for two games with New England and seven with the Green Bay Packers in 2017. Bennett played for the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and Chicago Bears as he racked up 433 catches and 30 touchdowns in his career.
Bennett finished 2017 with 30 catches, 286 yards, and zero touchdowns in 2017.
