Update: Patriots have twins, acquire Jason McCourty from Browns
The New England Patriots acquired defensive back Jason McCourty and a 2018 7th-round pick from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a 6th-round pick in 2018.
A previous report stated that McCourty was released by the Browns, but he'll join his twin brother Devin on the Patriots instead, filling the void left by Malcolm Butler. The veteran corner ranked 17th among all corners last season, according to Pro Football Focus. McCourty turns 31 in August.
McCourty finished the 2017 season with 54 tackles, 14 passes defensed and 3 interceptions in 14 starts. Pro Football Focus rated him 27th of all corners.
