Report: Trumaine Johnson to sign with Jets

Free agent cornerback Trumaine Johnson intends to sign with the New York Jets, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.

What It Means:

The Rams moved on from Johnson after acquiring Marcus Peters via trade. After drawing interest from several team's, Johnson lands in New York, where he'll serve as the team's lead cover-guy on the outside.

Pro Football Focus rated Johnson 68th among corners a year ago. He's started at least 12 games with double-digit passes defensed and more than 50 tackles in three straight seasons.
